Some stories begin with the future.Mine begin with a choice.Everything else is consequence.

S.V. Stan writes cinematic fiction about memory, family, survival, and the moments when ordinary people are pushed past what they thought they could bear.

About the Author

S.V. Stan

S.V. Stan is a Romanian author based near Bucharest, where he lives with his wife, Simona, and their daughter, Carolina.

He writes cinematic, character-driven fiction about ordinary people pushed into decisions they cannot undo. His stories move between dystopian futures, family drama, memory, grief, and survival, but they return to the same question: what becomes of us when love, fear, and pressure leave no clean choice?

Although his novels explore imagined worlds, the emotions behind them are real. Love, fear, family, sacrifice, hope, and the fragile choices that define a life continue to shape every story he writes.

Writing Philosophy

Why I write

After a life-changing illness, writing became more than an idea. It became a way to rebuild, to question, and to leave something behind that felt honest.

Family changed that even more.

My wife, Simona, and our daughter, Carolina, gave me another reason to keep returning to the page: not to escape life, but to understand it better. Time, love, fear, survival, and sacrifice—the things I write about are the things I think about when the room gets quiet.

The books are fiction.
The questions behind them are not.

The Questions

What makes us who we are?

What survives when memory breaks?

Sometimes, love remembers for us.

How far can love bend before it becomes fear?

Farther than most of us want to admit.

What are we willing to lose to save someone else?

Often, we do not know until the choice is already ours.
